Our Commitment to Privacy

At Empowered Living Therapy (“we”, “our”, “us”), we are committed to protecting your privacy and personal information. We comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and the NDIS Practice Standards.

We never sell or trade your personal data. As a therapy provider working closely with adults living with disability, we value transparency, dignity, and client control over personal information.

  • Information about disability, health history, diagnoses, assessments, and medications

  • Data collected from online forms or email correspondence

  • Technical data (cookies, browser type, IP address, website activity)

  • Reports or referrals provided by other professionals (with consent)

  • Our website contact or enquiry forms

  • Service notes recorded during therapy

  • Provide tailored occupational therapy supports

  • Complete NDIS assessments and functional capacity reports

  • Communicate with you and your support team

  • Manage bookings, records, and billing

  • Comply with NDIS and legal reporting requirements

How We Store and Protect It

All client data is stored securely in password-protected digital systems. These include clinical and administrative platforms that meet privacy and cybersecurity standards.

Security measures include:

  • Secure file storage (e.g. Google Workspace with 2FA)

  • Role-limited access to confidential files

  • Encrypted email and device protection

  • Regular privacy training and compliance review

Disclosure of Information

We will not disclose your personal or sensitive information without your consent unless required by law.

 

We may share information with:

  • The NDIA or NDIS Commission (where appropriate)

  • Your GP or other allied health professionals (with consent)

  • Support Coordinators or Plan Managers

  • Legal guardians or authorised representatives

We do NOT send your personal information overseas.
